For the last 4 months I have called Blue Mountain Ski Resort my home. Last week I left my home in the snow after working a ski season on front desk to return to the big, but not so bad city of Toronto (AKA Tdot if you’re gangster inclined)
I initially planned to live with Leanne, then planned to rent a place with another friend, then planned to stay in a hostel for a while. I think the only thing I didn’t consider doing was sleeping on the streets!
In the end I decided to go down the alternative route of Couchsurfing, which is where you stay on a random’s sofa for a few days, free of charge out of the kindness of their (the hosts) heart! As crazy as it may sound the Couchsurfing website is a big deal. You sign up and can either say whether you’re a host with a couch/sofa bed etc or that you are a guest and need a couch! From the reviews that people give each other after staying with someone, you can pretty much work out if they’re a psycho killer!
Anyway, the above picture is of me on my first ever host’s couch and as you can see I am not being murdered! I have in fact just been for dinner and cocktails with my host who is an Executive Assistant and may I add, absolutely lovely.
I’ve just finished editing my next video and am just about to watch Game of Thrones!! This has been a good day indeed. Thanks Couchsurfing! I give you major props!
